GGPoker Pennsylvania

Of course, that gives GGPoker license to launch in PA’s fenced-in market only. GGPoker will need to get separate licenses in New Jersey, Nevada and Michigan if it wants to launch in those states. Being licensed to launch in Pennsylvania’s fenced-in market only means GGPoker will allow players 21 or older who are inside state lines to play. It also means those players will only be playing against others in that same pool. That would change only if GGPoker gets licensed in another state, and Pennsylvania and other states join the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement, allowing sites to share player pools across state lines.

For now, that means PA players will not be playing against others on GGPoker’s international site. That means a smaller player pool, smaller guaranteed prize pools and fewer games. That said, GGPoker’s Pennsylvania site will include all the exclusive features and game types GGPoker has built its growing reputation on.

GGPoker New Jersey

GGPoker says it has been preparing to enter the US market for a while, and getting a license to launch in Pennsylvania is just the first step. In other words, it’s looking to launch in New Jersey, too.

The good news as far as that is concerned is that New Jersey has already signed on to join the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement. That’ll allow GGPoker sites in other states to share player pools with its NJ site as long as those states sign the agreement.

Of course, a couple of things need to happen first, starting with GGPoker getting a New Jersey online poker license.

In January 2021, the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit affirmed a 2019 district court decision stating that the Wire Act only applies to sports betting. This opened the door to PA possibly joining the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement in 2021.

GGPoker Michigan

If GGPoker is on its way to Pennsylvania, thinking about New Jersey and taking a long, hard look at the entire US online poker market, then it’s looking to launch in Michigan, too.

Michigan’s online poker market just launched in 2021. However, online gambling laws in the state already include language allowing interstate online poker as long as there’s no federal ban.

The US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit affirming that the Wire Act only applies to sports betting means Michigan could be next to join the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement, even ahead of Pennsylvania.

If GGPoker can get licenses in NJ and MI, it could be sharing player pools across those two states even before Pennsylvania gets on board.

GGPoker isn’t going to try anything wildly new in Pennsylvania, but it will try to have all the same banking options other online gambling sites in the state have. That means deposit options could include the following:
