About the $2 million VA ticket
For the last drawing that occurred on Monday, Sept. 27, the winning numbers were 21 – 22 – 39 – 44 – 60 with a red Powerball of 12. A winning ticket was sold at the Stop in Food Store located at 2375 Roanoke Street in Christianburg. While typically a ticket that matches all five white balls earns $1 million, this winner tacked on the Power Play, which doubled the prize.
In Virginia, winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the prize. The Virginia Lottery states “Before doing anything else, the winner should sign the back of the ticket to establish ownership. When the person is ready to claim the million-dollar prize, he or she should contact the Virginia Lottery.”
