Barstool Sports Advisors NFL Week 9 picks

It’s been quite a week for Dave Portnoy. Business Insider published a story on Tuesday about about allegations of sexual misconduct by Portnoy. He quickly went on social media to deny the allegations in a video and has continued a tweet-storm against the article. Also on Tuesday, Penn National Gaming released its Q3 results. Penn missed earnings expectations, and closed at $57.40, taking a 21% loss on the day, the single worst trading day as a public company. On Friday, it closed at $61.76.

An even crazier than normal week for Portnoy ended with him back with the Barstool Sports Advisors making picks for NFL Week 9 in an episode titled, “Dave Portnoy Thinks He’s Right.”

No mention was made of either the article or Penn stock during the episode.

Portnoy finished with the only winning record (4-2) in Week 9 of the trio. However, all mortal locks lost. Through 9 weeks of the NFL season, the Barstool Sports Advisors “mortal locks” are a combined 8-19.

Here are highlights of Barstool Sports Advisors analysis and you can choose to follow or fade them when making your picks at PA sports betting apps.

Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Dave Portnoy

The pick: Bengals -2.5

“This is a ‘prove-it’ game. The Bengals got screwed last week on that helmet-to-helmet call. I think they bounce back. The Browns aren’t playing good and the loser of this game doesn’t make the playoffs.”

Stu

The pick: Browns +2.5

“The Browns piss on the Bengals and put Joe Burrow in the hospital with his second concussion.”

Big Cat

The pick: Bengals -2.5, Over 47

“AFC North might be the best division in football. Baker Mayfield is banged up and I think the Bengals got a heavy dose of reality last week.”

Final score: Browns 41, Bengals 16

Minnesota Vikings vs. Baltimore Ravens

Dave

The pick: Vikings +5.5

“This is man in the suit vibes. Strictly my man in the suit game of the year.”

Stu

The pick: Vikings +5.5

“I said I want Kirk Cousins to die, but after this game. Kirk, let’s go baby. It’s Vikings outright but I’m taking the points. Kirk Cousins, four touchdowns.”

Big Cat

The pick: Ravens -5.5

“I love the Ravens. The Vikings had every chance on Sunday night against a backup ginger quarterback and Kirk Cousins, you f—– suck.”

Final score: Ravens 34, Vikings 31

Green Bay Packers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Dave

The pick: Packers +7.5

“The Packers are pretty f—– good. It seems almost too easy. I’m going to ignore the man in the suit. When does Jackson Mahomes stop with the dances?”

Stu

The pick: Chiefs -7.5

“I think Mahomes robbed the state of Missouri for a half a billion. His brother acts like a fool and he doesn’t give a f— about anything anymore. Chiefs are going to blow out the Packers and probably end Aaron Rodgers career.”

Big Cat

The pick: Packers +7.5

“Why are the Chiefs still favored when they suck? I will keep betting against the Chiefs until they start winning.”

Final score: Chiefs 13, Packers 7

Arizona Cardinals vs. San Francisco 49ers

Dave

The pick: Cardinals ML

“I have the Cardinals as my team from the NFC to go to the Super Bowl. I think Colt McCoy might be one of the top two or three game backups in the NFL.”

Stu

The pick: 49ers ML

“All 49ers here. In November, God doesn’t give away money. In September, some. October, he’s a little tighter but some. November, nothing. You’re not getting lucky here. You’re not betting the best teams against the worst teams and winning.”

Big Cat

The pick: 49ers ML

“This is a division matchup. I’m so sharp, I had a terrible September.”

Final score: Cardinals 31, 49ers 17

Tennessee Titans vs. Los Angeles Rams

Dave

The pick: Titans +7.5

“The Titans are perennially disrespected. I don’t see them getting blown out. Running back is the most interchangeable position in football.”

Stu

The pick: no pick

Big Cat

The pick: Titans +7.5, Over 53.5

“The line feels like an overreaction. They can still throw the ball.”

Final score: Titans 28, Rams 16

Barstool Sports Advisors Week 9 “mortal locks”

Dave

The pick: Cowboys -10

“How ’bout them Cowboys. This is more of an endorsement against the Broncos who I think stink.”

Final score: Broncos 30, Cowboys 16

Stu

The pick: Panthers +3.5

“They are going to end the New England Patriots season. They are going to show they them they are a fraud and that Belichick’s reputation was purely made by Tom Brady. Panthers outright.”

Final score: Patriots 24, Panthers 6

Big Cat

The pick: Buffalo Bills -14

“The Jags have nothing left. They had too many men on the field on back-to-back plays.”

Final score: Jaguars 9, Bills 6
