Readers of Casino Player Magazine are loving Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia.
Live! Casino Philadelphia, the new player in the crowded Philadelphia-area market, snapped up seven first-place awards in voting by the publication’s readers, including designation as the Best Overall Gaming Resort in Pennsylvania.
Live! Philadelphia is new to the Casino Player rankings
Mount Airy Casino and Mohegan Sun Pocono were voted the second and third places in the overall resort category. Mount Airy previously was awarded best overall in 2019. No awards were made in 2020 due to virus interruptions.
Other best top honors this year for Live! Casino Philadelphia included:
- Suites
- Players club
- Sportsbook promotions
- Table games
- Reel slots
- Carnival games
- Digital blackjack

Parx and The Meadows also receognized
In the magazine’s Racino rankings, Penn National‘s The Meadows took second place nationally for its hotel, third place for its hotel staff, and also a favorite resort vacation.
Parx, also a PA racino, had many honors.
They included:
- First place for table games, roulette, craps, betting options, sportsbook promotions, and video poker.
- Second place for the best casino, high limit room, carnival games, cocktail service, sportsbook, prop bets, friendliest sportsbook.
- Third place for comps.
Honors have not translated to revenue
While Live!, Casino Philadelphia, which debuted last January, shines in the awards categories, the casino has not shown the same dominance when it comes to revenue.
Live! has never been near the top for casino slot revenue or table games, nor sports betting or for its online casino.
Philadelphia is a competitive location for casinos
The Cordish Gaming property is located in the heart of the South Philly stadium complex off I-95 and I-76.
Besides Live!, also in the Philly region are Harrah’s Philadelphia, Rivers Philadelphia, Valley Forge Casino, and Parx.
