The current Powerball jackpot run has gone 28 drawings with no Grand Prize winner, bringing tonight’s jackpot to an estimated $400 million. Jackpot winners can choose to take the prize in a single lump sum payment. The lump sum cash value of this jackpot is $240.8 million.
In the previous drawing on Wednesday, one player in New Jersey matched the first five balls drawn, to win a prize of $2 million. That prize would usually be $1 million, but the player added the Power Play option to their ticket when purchasing. Power Play costs an additional $1 and multiplies any prizes won other than the jackpot.
Powerball is celebrating its 30th anniversary this week. Will a lucky Powerball player also have something to celebrate this week?

Online ticket pays off for one PA player
At least one PA Powerball player won big in Wednesday’s drawing. A player in Cambria County, who bought their ticket online, matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball to win $100,000. Like the big winner mentioned above, this player also added the $1 Power Play option to their ticket. Without it, the prize would have been $50,000.
With PA iLottery, online winners are automatically notified if they win a prize on a game like Powerball. Most prizes won online are automatically paid directly to your player account.
