Today marks eight weeks since the last time a lucky Powerball player hit the jackpot. The previous drawing on Monday had no Grand Prize winner, so the jackpot rolls to $312 million for tonight, June 22. The lump sum cash value is $175 million before taxes.
The lump sum value is what a winner would get if they choose to take the prize all at once in a single payment.
The jackpot has been hit only three times so far this year. The first time, on Jan. 5, it was hit by two players in different states. Those jackpot winners split the whopping $632.6 million prize.
A little more than a month later, a player in Connecticut took the prize which had grown to $185.3 million for the Feb. 14 drawing. Most recently, the winner in Arizona hit the $473.1 million jackpot, nabbing the highest prize for a single player this year.
Powerball drawings are now held three times a week, on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, at 11:00 p.m. ET.
