The Powerball jackpot has reset for tonight’s drawing after one lucky player won it all on Wednesday. The starting jackpot for July 2 is $20 million. The lump sum cash value of the prize would be $11.4 million.
The jackpot from Wednesday was the first Powerball jackpot to be won in Vermont. The lucky ticket holder will have the choice between an annuity for the full $366.7 million, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump sum payment of $208.5 million, before taxes. This was the fourth Powerball jackpot won so far this year.
In addition, a player in Illinois was one number away from hitting the Top Prize. They matched the first five numbers to win $1 million. Had that player matched the red Powerball as well, the jackpot would be split between the two winners.
Check the Powerball winning numbers below, after the drawing at 11 p.m. ET.

What are the odds?
Remember, the odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot remain the same no matter how large the prize gets or how recently someone has hit it. In fact, just last year, two drawings in a row produced jackpot winners. On Jan. 20, 2021 a player in Maryland hit the $731 million prize, and in the very next drawing on Jan. 23 a player in New Jersey scooped up the $20 million pot.
So, your odds tonight are no slimmer than usual. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
