Rivers Pittsburgh Sportsbook
Rivers Sportsbook initially opened for sports betting in a temporary location on December 15, 2018, before moving to its permanent sportsbook on September 30, 2019. The online platform, BetRivers online, was launched in June 2019.

The hours of operation are as follows: Sunday through Friday from noon to 10:30 p.m. On Saturdays, we are open from 10 a.m. to midnight. Please note that these hours are subject to change. If you need to cash in your tickets after hours, you can do so at the cage.
The Rivers Sportsbook is located in the center of the casino, taking over the space that was previously occupied by Level’s. It spans 5,500 square feet and offers seating for about 195 guests, including club chairs and table seating. There are 6 live betting windows and 27 self-service sports betting kiosks. Valley Forge Casino Sportsbook
The FanDuel Sportsbook at Valley Forge Casino officially opened its doors on March 13, 2019, followed by the launch of an online and mobile sports betting platform by FanDuel and Valley Forge Casino at the end of July 2019.

The Book at Harrah’s Philadelphia debuted on January 24, 2019, followed by the launch of their online and mobile sports betting product on March 10, 2020, later than anticipated. In October 2020, Harrah’s rebranded their sportsbook to William Hill as part of a merger with Eldorado Resorts. The sportsbook underwent another name change as part of a national rebranding campaign and will now be known as the Caesars Sportsbook at Harrah’s Casino Philadelphia.

Hollywood Casino Sportsbook
On November 17, 2018, Hollywood Casino introduced the first legal sportsbook in the state in partnership with William Hill. However, Penn National Gaming, the owner of Hollywood, decided to switch to Kambi as their software provider. In early 2020, Penn acquired a stake in sports media company Barstool Sports and quietly launched the inaugural Barstool sportsbook app on September 15. The physical sportsbook at Hollywood Casino will eventually be rebranded as Barstool.

The Meadows’ retail sportsbook, valued at $1.4 million, was unveiled on October 10, 2019. Penn Interactive manages the in-house operations, while DraftKings handles online sports betting for The Meadows, which was introduced in November, 2019.

Mohegan Sun Pocono
The partnership between Kindred Group and Mohegan Sun Pocono resulted in the opening of a Unibet-branded retail sportsbook at Mohegan Sun on Sept. 24.
With 1,130 square feet of space, this venue features six self-service sports betting kiosks, a 28-foot wide HD video screen for audio/video entertainment, and an on-site full service bar. The software partner for the sportsbook is Kindred Group/Unibet/Kambi, with online and mobile betting available through Unibet Sportsbook PA.
Off Track Betting Parlors (OTBs) also offer sports wagering in PA
In recent years, the number of operational OTBs has significantly decreased, with only two remaining. The most recent closure was The Oaks (further information provided below).
The Downs at Lehigh Valley
Mohegan Sun Pocono continued its partnership with Unibet by opening a retail sportsbook at The Downs in Lehigh Valley, an OTB race parlor. Unfortunately, the timing of the launch on March 7, 2020 coincided with the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, which led to the shutdown of live wagering and most sports events for several weeks. Despite the challenges, the Unibet US sports betting option at The Downs is powered by Kambi.

Oaks Race and Sportsbook (permanently closed)
The off-track betting parlor known as Parx’ Valley Forge Turf Club underwent a rebranding to become the Valley Forge Race & Sportsbook, introducing sports betting on March 6, 2019. It later underwent another rebranding to become Oaks Race and Sportsbook.
The Oaks Race and Sportsbook, along with other gambling facilities in Pennsylvania, closed their doors in mid-March 2020. A Parx customer service representative later confirmed to Playin Pennsylvania in mid-July that the closure was permanent, marking the end of the road for the Oaks Race and Sportsbook.
