It’s Tuesday, and that means another exciting Mega Millions drawing takes place tonight. The jackpot steps up to $247 million for June 14, after two months of drawings with no top prize winner. The lump sum cash value of tonight’s jackpot is $140.6 million before taxes. That’s the amount a lucky winner would get if they choose to take the prize in a single payment.
In the previous drawing on Friday, the coveted 5X Megaplier was drawn. Megaplier is the $1 ticket option that multiplies all prizes other than the jackpot. Any player who matches the first five balls would have their $1 million prize multiplied to $5 million in the case of the 5X Megaplier.
Unfortunately, no one hit the $1 million prize this time around. Only three of the $10,000 winners had their prizes multiplied to $50,000. The 5X multiplier is rare, having only a 1 in 15 chance of coming up in a drawing.
