It’s a new week, with a new chance at a life-changing jackpot prize in tonight’s Powerball drawing. For May 9, the top prize is up to an estimated $59 million. The lump sum cash value of tonight’s jackpot is $33.9 million.
On Saturday, one ticket holder in Georgia hit a $1 million payday by matching the first five white balls, falling just short of hitting the Grand Prize with no Powerball match.
A whole slew of other players hit the next prize tier by matching four of the five white balls, plus the red Powerball. Twelve tickets won prizes of $50,000 for their good luck, while eight others secured $100,000 because they employed the Power Play option on their ticket when purchasing.
