PA Resident Becomes First Millionaire of the Year
While the nation was ringing in the new year, five finalists around the country had their fingers crossed, hoping to win the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year prize during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. All the contestants and their families got to enjoy a New Year’s Eve party package, $10,000 and other prizes provided by Powerball, but one lucky Pennsylvanian took home the big prize.
Joining the live broadcast from home, Brian Minewaeser of Chester County was announced as the $1 million winner in the special drawing.
“It’s just so surreal!” Mineweaser said. “It’s amazing to win $1 million! This will help me put my four kids through college.”
PA Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko congratulated the lucky winner.
