A Powerball ticket sold in CA hit a $1 million prize for matching the first five balls in Monday’s drawing. No one in Powerball’s 45 states or other jurisdictions hit the jackpot though, so the Grand Prize gets a bump to $158 million for Feb. 9. The cash value, if taken as a lump sum, comes to $107.8 million before taxes.

Check the Powerball winning numbers below after the drawing at 11:00 p.m. EST.

WINsconsin couple thrilled with their win

You might remember the most recent Powerball jackpot that was hit on Jan. 5. It was the 7th-highest Top Prize to be awarded in the history of Powerball. Two separate tickets matched all six numbers drawn and split the prize of $632.6 million.

Now we know who the WI winner of half that prize was. Married couple Cliff and Tammy Webster were the lucky lotto players, who opted to take the lump sum of $225.1 million rather than annual payments. After Federal and State taxes, they ended up with $153.9 million.

The couple expressed gratitude and called the win “a blessing.” Mrs. Webster told the WI Lottery, “We are sincerely grateful for this incredible event. We always believed that we had a chance to win if we played and this is a dream come true.”

The Jackson Pointe Citgo station in Green Bay received a $100,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

There have been three Powerball jackpots and one Mega Millions jackpot hit in WI since March 2019. Since the debut of Powerball, there have been 19 jackpot wins in WI, earning the state the nickname WINsconsin.
