Another ticket, sold in MI, narrowly missed the Top Prize matching the first five numbers but not the Powerball. That ticket still wins the second-tier prize of $1 million. Matching those first five numbers will always win a prize of $1 million, no matter what the jackpot is. Adding the Power Play option when buying your ticket would double that prize to $2 million.
The lump sum cash value for today’s jackpot is $13.4 million.

CT Lottery celebrates a big win and a big anniversary
The Top Prize was up to $185.3 million on Monday when a ticket sold in CT matched all six numbers drawn. The major win in Connecticut coincides with that state lottery’s 50th anniversary, which just kicked off on Tuesday. According to a CT Lottery press release, this is the ninth Powerball jackpot to be hit in the state, and ranks as the second-largest lottery prize in CT Lottery’s history. The largest prize ever won was the $254.2 million Powerball jackpot hit in 2011.
The winner has not yet been identified, as the prize must first be claimed and ticket validated. The jackpot has a cash value of $123.9 million before taxes, if the winner chooses to take it all at once.
The winning numbers in the February 14 drawing were 16 – 25 – 27 – 49 – 55. The Powerball number was 17.
Monday marks the second Powerball jackpot win of the year so far. Now offering a third drawing per week, Powerball officials expect to see more winners and higher jackpots this year. The Monday drawings began in August last year.
