Pennsylvania poker players are in luck in March. BetMGM is hosting “March Poker Mania” online from March 20-27.
BetMGM will host 19 events in Pennsylvania with $397,000 in guaranteed prize pools. The March Mania buy-ins range from $55 to $1,060.
In addition to PA, the BetMGM March Mania poker festival will run simultaneously in New Jersey ($472k GTD) and Michigan ($397k GTD). Three of poker’s most renowned personalities, Darren Elias, Matt Berkey and Andrew Neeme, will emcee the omni-channel festival in their respective home states.
Luke Staudenmaier, Director of Poker, BetMGM said of the event:
“We’re thrilled that March Poker Mania will feature three poker titans, offering BetMGM players multiple new touchpoints with our brand. It’s the first time that we’ve produced an online poker event in multiple states and with multiple hosts – simultaneously, and we’re excited to further connect our players and our brand with MGM properties across the country.”
Poker players must be physically located in the Keystone State to play in the events. Pennsylvania poker players currently have two different poker skins to pick from. Both use the same player pool: BetMGM PA and Borgata Poker.

BetMGM heads-up bracket for March Mania
One of the exclusive events in the series is a heads-up tournament. The $1,000 March Mania Heads-Up Bracket will allow 32 players to go toe-to-toe. Players will compete in a bracket style tournament of head to head matches. The BetMGM network is also adding $10,000 in value for the Heads-Up Champion.
One player looking forward to the event is Pennsylvania native and poker pro Matt Berkey.
“The heads up event is circled on my calendar,” said Berkey. “It’s not a format I regularly play, but I love the idea of playing a March Madness-like shootout and the $10k added to first is a real sweetener to the event.”
Berkey will also be part of the streaming events that will accompany the series. According to a press release from BetMGM:
“In Pennsylvania, high stakes pro and content creator Matt Berkey – a self-proclaimed ‘Yinzer’ – will stream March Poker Mania events starting on March 24th and provide online poker giveaways to the audience. The Pittsburgh native will also live stream several cash games, and handicap college basketball on the Solve For Why YouTube channel.”
