Sportsbooks in Pennsylvania seem to be doing their best to make up for the fact that the NCAA Tournament was cancelled last year.
They are offering lots of promos, new users offers and boosts for bettors ready to wager on March Madness again.
It’s not as difficult as narrowing a field of 64 to a final four, but here are some of the standouts.
Betting on NCAA in PA
Before you log on to a PA sports betting app from your couch or corner bar, there are a few things you should know. If you bet on the NBA, you’ll notice certain betting markets are missing from CBB markets. It’s because legal sportsbooks comply with state specific rules for NCAA basketball betting markets.
In Pennsylvania, legal sportsbooks are not able to offer betting markets on player props.
In New Jersey, legal sportsbooks can’t offer betting markets on any college sport or game that takes place in New Jersey. Also, while you are physically located in New Jersey, you can not bet on any New Jersey college team regardless of where the game takes place.
For example, the 2021 NCAA tourney is in Indianapolis. You are not permitted to bet on Rutgers on any legal, regulated sportsbook app while physically located in New Jersey. However, if you cross the bridge and are (21+) and in PA, you can.
DraftKings March Madness promos
DraftKings Bet $4, Win $256: New users can get 64:1 odds and bet $4 to win $256 on underdogs for certain NCAA tourney games in the first and second round.

FanDuel March Madness Spread the Love
FanDuel Sportsbook is bringing back the love with its popular “Spread the Love” promotion.
Spread the Love on Michigan State vs. UCLA (March 18):
- The spread will increase one point in Michigan State’s favor for every 2500 bets that are placed on the market (Michigan State with the points). For example, Michigan State opened (-1.5 @ -110). If 25,000 users bet on Michigan State, the line will close at Michigan State (+8.5 @ -110), and regardless of when you bet on the line, you’ll receive the enhanced line.
- All users can “Spread the Love” and will see the market available once inside the FanDuel sportsbook mobile app. Max bet $50.
BetMGM March Madness promos
BetMGM Risk-Free First Bet: Every new user will receive a risk-free first bet up to $600 during the tournament.
Buzzer beaters insurance: BetMGM is offering fans a lifeline through its new “Buzzer-Beater Insurance” that will refund up to $20 of a bet that loses due to a shot made in the final five seconds of the game.
Bet the Board: During the NCAA Tournament first round, users who place a minimum $10 bet will receive $160 in free bets to spread across every game that day ($10 per game). Customers who place a $20 bet on the second round will again receive $160 in free bets to be able to bet on every game on the board ($20 per game).
