Parx Casino fans are about to get a real kick at the Philadelphia Union soccer club and its Talen Energy Stadium.
Parx, which is in a Bucks County ‘burb bordering Northeast Philly, has partnered with the Union. The team’s stadium is located 37 miles away in Chester.

The partnership will encourage Union fans to place online sports bets on the Parx sports betting app while attending the soccer game miles away from the brick-and-mortar sportsbook. And of course, fans are also free to make other sports wagers online as well.

Parx will present the halftime shows on all Union broadcasts, provide perks and prizes. Additionally, Parx will dispatch employees to show soccer fans how to make online sports bets on its recently launched app.

Parx brings an online sportsbook and perks to the partnership

Jean-Paul Dardenne, senior vice president of corporate partnerships at the Philadelphia Union, explained the value of the partnership:

“Parx Casino is the premiere destination for gaming and sports gambling, not only for the Philadelphia-area, but for the state of Pennsylvania as a whole.”

Earlier in the month, Parx Casino unveiled a new $10 million expansion centered on an enhanced sportsbook. Earlier in the summer, Parx also launched its online sports betting app as well as an online casino.

As part of the partnership, street teams from Parx will show soccer fans how to download the Parx sports betting app, claim a first deposit match, and teach how to make bets.

Prizes for those who download Parx betting app

Fans who download the app can win prizes. One is for an all-inclusive trip for four to the Union’s away game next month against New York Red Bulls.

Marc Oppenheimer, chief marketing officer at Parx, explained:

“We’re excited to partner with the Philadelphia Union and the fastest growing professional sport in the US. MLS looks to be a great partner for the emerging legalized sports betting business.”

Union season ticket holder Jeff Mitchell, a fan for a decade, sees the upside potential.

“This is more about expanding the audience and bringing in new people and making them part of the culture. In England, where soccer is king, soccer and gambling go hand-in-hand. If the Union grows, it will mean better players and a better experience for fans.”

Mitchell, a resident of Roxborough, said he counts on the Union to find ways to “be on the cutting edge.”

The fact that Parx is the top performer among Pennsylvania casinos underscores why its partnership with the Union makes sense, he said.

Partnership bypasses the nearest casino

The partnership is an interesting pairing. By partnering with Parx, the Union hopscotched over a neighbor in Chester.

The Union’s stadium is just more than 2.5 miles from Harrah’s Chester, another PA casino with a retail sportsbook, but so far no online sportsbook, and no launch date. Harrah’s parent company, Caesars Entertainment, has a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Parx, which launched the second legal mobile sportsbook in PA, is setting up shop at Talen Energy Stadium on game days instead.
