The dog days of summer are here as Pennsylvania sports bettors will look for something to bet when MLB enters the All-Star break. The best sluggers in the league will compete for the 2022 Home Run Derby crown on July 18 ahead of the All-Star Game on July 19. Home Run Derby odds are available at PA online sportsbooks. Phillies history in the Home Run Derby
Only two Phillies players have won the Home Run Derby, which came in back-to-back years.
Bobby Abreu put on the show at Comerica Park in Detroit when he belted 24 home runs in the first round and 41 total to win the derby in 2005.
Ryan Howard won the derby at PNC Park in Pittsburgh in 2006 by hitting 23 total home runs. Howard was unable to defend his title in 2007.
The last Phillies player to participate in the Home Run Derby was Rhys Hoskins in 2018. He lost in the semifinals to Kyle Schwarber.
Chase Utley and Jim Thome are the only other Phillies players to compete in a Home Run Derby with no success.

The Home Run Derby has provided some interesting and magical moments since the new head-to-head format was adopted in 2015. Here are some interesting facts about the derby:
