As the NFL season pushes onward, daily fantasy sports revenue in Pennsylvania continues to trend upward.
As a result, PA daily fantasy sports numbers have never been higher.
According to financials released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), fantasy sports contests in the Keystone State generated $2,902,862.97 in October. That total reflects a 36 percent increase from September. It is also the state’s highest tally since rolling out DFS contests in May.
With the state taxing 15 percent on revenue, Pennsylvania received a cut of $435,429.45, also a six-month high.
DraftKings, FanDuel continue to lead
All seven DFS providers reporting revenue last month enjoyed month-to-month increases from September.
Of course, once again, industry powers DraftKings and FanDuel blew away the rest of the field. While the two companies’ market share dropped, they still controlled 96.3 percent of the adjusted revenue in October.
DraftKings led the state with $1,545,151.83 last month, nearly $400,000 more than its September totals.
FanDuel, meanwhile, entered October after its best-performing month in Pennsylvania, reporting just shy of $950,000 in September.
Last month, DraftKings’ chief rival entered into seven figures for the first time in the Keystone State with $1,249,989.98 in revenue.
Other fantasy sites see upticks too
DraftKings and FanDuel were not alone in enjoying revenue spikes last month.
Perhaps most noteworthy, Yahoo Fantasy Sports checked in at $22,117.96. Though not an awe-striking figure, consider the DFS provider came off a September in which it essentially asked for a refund by reporting -$12,049.35.
Sportshub Technologies also turned in gargantuan figures from October. The company reported $41,571.73 in October. That came on the heels of a measly $270 September.
Elsewhere, DRAFT jumped nearly $17,000 month to month with $36,592.23 in October revenue. Fantasy Draft reported just under $6,000 (up from just over $1,000), while Boom Fantasy checked in at $1,459.57, which is nearly on part with its $1,336.87 September total.
Another big month for PA DFS
Football season has certainly become the driving factor behind a fast-rising DFS industry in Pennsylvania.
When fantasy contests rolled out in May, enough baseball and basketball filled the schedules to lead to $1.33 million in first-month revenue. The dead part of the sports calendar, though, resulted in monthly revenue dropping to $1.02 million in June and about $878,000 in July.
August DFS revenue climbed back to $943,620.22, and since, numbers have soared.
Over the first four months, fantasy contests resulted in $4.17 million. In September and October, they generated a whopping $5.04 million.
