The temporary retail sportsbook at SugarHouse Casino is no more. Instead, gamblers will find a permanent, state-of-the-art sports lounge branded as BetRivers Sportsbook.

The entire casino is soon to be rebranded as Rivers Philadelphia, in keeping with the dominant brand name used by its parent company, Rush Street. The company already operates Rivers Casino Pittsburgh and additional Rivers casinos in other jurisdictions.

A total of $5 million went into outfitting the new sportsbook lounge. It includes six betting windows and another 22 self-service betting kiosks.

New lounge part of the sportsbook strategy

Rob Long, general manager of SugarHouse Casino, explained:

“The brand-new BetRivers Sportsbook is a must-see venue for every passionate Philly fan. If they can’t make it to the game, our guests will love watching the action in Philadelphia’s ultimate game-day destination.”

The new 5,700-square-foot space is three times the space of the previous temporary sportsbook. The lounge includes a luxury viewing area with a massive HD video wall capable of televising multiple games at a time.

More innovative new sportsbook spaces in PA

Architect Dwayne MacEwen has paid special attention to seating comfort and flat surfaces for food and drink. Furthermore, the new SugarHouse sportsbook space offers acoustics that enables conversations, not just shouting.

MacEwen, who is is also behind the newly opened permanent book at Rivers Pittsburgh and two lounges conducive to online wagering within the Wells Fargo Center, the BetRivers.com Sports Lounge and the Rivers Casino Philadelphia Sports Lounge.

Wells Fargo Center is home to the NHL team, the Philadelphia Flyers, and the NBA team, the Philadelphia 76ers.

Rivers has a sportsbook sponsorship deal with the Flyers.

Connecting with sports fans wherever they are

The Wells Fargo lounges serve to extend the Rivers brand beyond the retail sportsbook in the casino on Delaware Avenue. Fans in the arena can watch an array of events on nearly 100 screens while attending games and other live events.

Mattias Stetz, the COO of Rush Street Interactive, operator of the in-casino and online sportsbooks for Rivers, explained:

“We made sure the new BetRivers Sportsbook and the sports lounges at the Wells Fargo Center have everything Philadelphia sports fans need to have fun with their friends, enjoy the games and get in on the action. Rush Street Interactive is a proven leader in sports betting, and we know guests will be thrilled with the new in-casino sportsbook and when playing on their mobile devices in the lounges.”
