BetAmerica Sportsbook Sneaks In A Soft Launch Before 2019 Wraps Up

Another Pennsylvania online sportsbook launched as quietly as Santa sneaks through living rooms.

On Monday afternoon, BetAmerica entered the market. Owned by Churchill Downs Incorporated, the home of the Kentucky Derby, BetAmerica operates in PA through its partnership with Presque Isle Downs & Casino.

The soft launch for BetAmerica PA sportsbook will be as follows:

  • Monday, Dec. 16: 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 17: 2:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 18: 12:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

Pending completion of the testing phase, BetAmerica will then be available 24/7.

BetAmerica not ready for mobile

Currently, BetAmerica is not available as an app for either iOS users or Android users. A customer service rep said they plan to launch the app in the near future. It is the first PA online sportsbook to launch with no app option whatsoever. Other brands launched without an iOS app initially, but the other seven online sportsbooks all offered at least an Android app.

There does appear to be the potential for browser betting on your phone in tandem with the GeoGuard app from GeoComply. Both SugarHouse and Unibet utilize the ap on iOS devices to allow browser-based betting and casino play in Pennsylvania.

BetAmerica Sportsbook and its corresponding online casino are available in New Jersey. According to the website, the casino for PA is “coming soon.” Presque Isle has PA Gaming Control Board (PGCB) approval for interactive gaming but hasn’t been cleared for launch yet.

Players in PA can access BetAmerica via web browser at pa.betamerica.com.

BetAmerica deposit and withdraw

There are several ways for customers to deposit and withdraw funds with BetAmerica:

  • Skrill
  • Online banking
  • PayPal
  • Cash deposit (PayNearMe)
  • Play+

Credit cards are listed on the site as a payment option, but are not currently available as an option Withdraw options vary by player according to verification status and account history.

Creating a BetAmerica account

If you have a BetAmerica account in New Jersey, you will have to create a new one for the Pennsylvania version.

Information required to create an account with BetAmerica:

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Last four digits of Social Security number

PA sports betting nears one-year anniversary and record revenue

BetAmerica is Pennsylvania’s eighth online sportsbook. Unibet and DraftKings launched in November. Adding to the excitement, PokerStars PA and PokerStars Casino finally made its much-anticipated arrival.

In October, fueled by the second full month of NFL action, the PA sports betting handle soared to $241 million. That record should be broken in the upcoming days with the release of the November sports betting and online casino revenue numbers.
