Recent changes in light of coronavirus closures will see the Powerball jackpot reset to $20 million after it hits next. The lucky person to claim the next Grand Prize is in for a big one, though.
The Powerball jackpot currently sits at an estimated $190 million. The cash option for matching all six balls would be $156 million in the April 8 drawing.

Last drawing’s winning numbers, winning tickets
The winning numbers for the April 4 drawing last Saturday were 8 – 31 – 39 – 40 – 43 and Powerball 04. The power play multiplier was 3x.
While there were no jackpot winners, two tickets matched all five white balls. For one, it was worth $1 million, and the other ticket yielded $2 million with the $1 power play in action.
Another 14 matched four white balls and the powerball to win $50,000. Five of them had the power play to tripled their winnings to $150,000.
In PA, five tickets matched four white balls, four of them winning $100 and one winning $300 with the power play. Another 32 matched three white balls and the powerball to win $100, and 12 of those tripled their payout to $300.

Changes to Powerball jackpots, roll amounts
After the next Grand Prize hits, it will start over at $20 million. Following the April 8 drawing, there will be no minimum increase between drawings. It will instead depend on game sales and interest rates, the Powerball Product Group recently announced.
That is updated from a previous announcement that changed the minimum increase amount from $10 million to $2 million.
The changes have come in response to lower lotto sales due to stay-at-home orders nationwide.
“These changes are necessary to ensure that ticket sales can support the Powerball jackpot and other lower-tier cash prizes,” said Gregg Mineo, Powerball Product Group Chairman and Maine Lottery Director. “Our number one priority is making sure that the Powerball game can continue to assist lotteries in raising proceeds for their beneficiaries.”
