No one hit the Mega Millions jackpot yet again on Friday, April 24, but one player got mighty close.
One ticket in Florida matched all five white balls and had the 2x megaplier in play. That was good for a $2 million payout. If the ticket would have matched the megaball, which was 18 on Friday, it would have been jackpot time.
Friday’s first five were 1 – 27 – 32 – 60 – 67.
Fortunate for everyone else, the jackpot rolls over again, bringing it up to $186 million. The cash option stands at $151.2 million for the April 28 drawing.
Getting your Mega Millions tickets in PA
There are many ways to pick up your $2 Mega Millions tickets. A number of lottery retailers are still open, but many are temporarily closed on state orders.
In Pennsylvania, lotto players needn’t leave their house to purchase tickets, as they are available at the PA iLottery site online. They can also purchase them via the PA iLottery app on mobile.

Changes to Mega Millions, Powerball payouts
With lotto sales currently down, there are some changes temporarily in place for draw games like Mega Millions and Powerball.
Once the Mega jackpot hits, it will reset to $20 million rather than the traditional $40 million, as the Powerball recently did. Further, there is no minimum amount by which the jackpot will increase each time it is not hit.
That means, the increases from drawing to drawing will depend upon sales and interest rates. It also means the jackpots will increase quite a bit slower, most likely.
Still, the Mega Millions jackpot continues to swell as it approaches the $200 million-mark. For many, that will be worth a $2 (or $3 with the megaplier) shot. But remember, the odds of hitting the jackpot remain long – very long.
