No big Mega Millions jackpot winnah yet again on Tuesday, April 28.
Ten players matched four white balls, good for $10,000, but three of the winners had added the 3x megaplier for just a buck more, netting them $30,000.
The numbers drawn Tuesday were 13 – 19 – 53 – 54 – 63. The Powerball was 17.
With no big money winner, the jackpot rolled over again, bringing it up to $200 million. The cash option stands at $161.8 million for the May 1 drawing.
Mega Millions available online
There are lots of ways to pick up your $2 Mega Millions tickets. Some lottery retailers are still open, but many are temporarily closed on state orders.
But the good thing in Pennsylvania is lotto players needn’t leave their house to purchase tickets, as they are available at the PA iLottery site online. They can also purchase them via the PA iLottery app on mobile.
If you have not yet signed up for the PA lottery platform, you can do so here for a $20 bonus and a deposit match bonus.
Changes in jackpots and rollovers
With lotto sales currently down, there are some temporary changes for draw games like Mega Millions and Powerball.
Once the Mega jackpot hits, it will reset to $20 million rather than the traditional $40 million, as the Powerball recently did. Further, there is no minimum amount by which the jackpot will increase each time it is not hit.
That means the increases from drawing to drawing will depend upon sales and interest rates. It also means jackpots will likely increase slower.
Still, the Mega Millions jackpot continues to grow as it hits the $200 million mark. For many, that will be worth a $2 (or $3 with the megaplier) shot. The odds of hitting the jackpot remain long – very long – but 1 out of 24 plays wins some amount.
