Just in advance of Super Bowl weekend, BetRivers Online Casino joins the existing Rivers Casino Pittsburgh online sportsbook, also operating under the BetRivers name.
The addition means PA now has eight online sportsbooks and eight online casinos.
Rivers expands its brand
As Rivers Casino Pittsburgh does not have an online casino license, the new online casino is operating under Rivers Casino Philadelphia‘s gaming license. The PlaySugarHouse online casino and sportsbook brands also fall under that license.
PA gaming law allows for multiple brands or “skins” under one license, but not multiple sportsbooks, as long as a relationship with a retail casino is shown. The new BetRivers online casino is, therefore, a skin of PlaySugarHouse. So, in this case, it also effectively provides the same product in terms of offerings and look and feel.
All the Rivers online products run on a platform provided by Rush Street Interactive (RSI). Rush Street also operates the PlaySugarHouse Sportsbook in New Jersey. SugarHouse was the name of Rivers Philadelphia before it was rebranded late last year, but the SugarHouse brand lives in app form.
This is the first BetRivers online casino skin to date, but another BetRivers online sportsbook can be found in Indiana through a partnership with French Lick Resort.
BetRivers online sportsbook customers can now access online casino games
The online casino and sportsbook products share the same accounts and wallets for bettors’ convenience. Players already on the BetRivers Sportsbook app can immediately begin placing online and mobile wagers on slots and table games across the state of Pennsylvania.
Likewise, of great importance, players can switch seamlessly between the sportsbook and casino using phones, tablets and computers.
Richard Schwartz, president of Rush Street Interactive, explained the timing and decision to add an online casino to the existing sportsbook:

BetRivers online casino debuted with a small portfolio of table games. It includes two versions of blackjack, several roulette variations, and baccarat.
The slot library has more than 60 titles, including Double Ruby and Atomic Meltdown slots from Everi. Additional games are planned as they are approved by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).
