Pennsylvania is following a three-phase color-coded system for reopening. Of course it’s caused debate, but there is one thing we can all agree on, we would like some more green in our pockets.
The Powerball jackpot is now at $86 million ($69.2 million cash option) for Saturday, May 15. No matter what county in Pennsylvania you live, you could be seeing a lot of green.
Some lotto retailers remain closed but Pennsylvania is one of the few states where players can buy tickets online. $2 draw tickets and other lotto products are available online at the PA iLottery platform. Signing up through our links here will get you a free $20 plus a deposit bonus.
Recent Powerball numbers and winners
The winning numbers for the previous drawing on May 13 were 39 – 53 – 54 – 56 – 57 with a powerball of 20. The power play multiplier was 3x, meaning any winning ticket that added the $1 power play would have multiplied winnings by 3-times, except for the jackpot and the million-dollar prize.
One ticket in Texas matched all five white balls, added the $1 powerplay and won $2 million.
Two tickets matched four white balls, the powerball, and had the powerplay to win $150,000. Five players matched four white balls and the powerball but did not have the powerball. They won $50,000. One of the $50,000 winners was sold in Pennsylvania!

Coronavirus impacts lotto
Even the lottery isn’t immune to coronavirus. Due to decreased lotto sales, there are some changes to Powerball and Mega Millions drawings. The reset amount for both drawings is now $20 million, instead $40 million.
Also, there is no minimum jackpot increase between drawings when the Grand Prize is not hit. That means roll increases depend on sales and interest rates only.
However, there is still lots of interest in lottery games. Powerball is sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In Pennsylvania, tickets are sold until 9:59 p.m. on drawing nights, Wednesday and Saturday.
