$100K unclaimed Powerball winning ticket nears expiration

If you bought a Powerball ticket for the June 6 drawing in North Dakota, you need to check your tickets! A winning ticket for the drawing was sold at Cash Wise Foods at 1144 East Bismarck Expressway in Bismarck.

This particular ticket matched four white balls plus the Powerball. Additionally, the player purchased the $1 Power Play option, which boosted the prize to $100,000.

As a reminder, the winning numbers for June 6 were 1 – 17 – 38 – 68 – 69, with a Powerball of 18. In North Dakota, winners only have 180 days from the drawing’s date to claim prizes.

Online lottery tickets are safe and secure

Here’s the deal: In PA specifically, the state-run PA online lottery automatically notifies you of winning tickets. In fact, the vast majority of winnings are automatically paid out to your player account.

Note that for larger prizes, you do need to head into the PA Lottery Office. However, the difference is that with physical tickets, you need to sign your ticket and keep it secure until either mailing it in or turning it in to the lottery office. On the other hand, online lottery tickets are virtual, meaning you do not need to physically present the winning ticket.

If you aren’t located in PA, there are a handful of other states that allow sales of online lottery tickets:

  • New York
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Kentucky
  • Michigan
  • New Hampshire
  • North Carolina
  • North Dakota
  • Virginia

For more information, check the relevant state’s lottery program. Please play responsibly.
