Two big winners hailing from California and New Jersey resulted from that drawing. The winners matched all five white balls. This means that their winning tickets are worth $1 million each. However, these winners did not opt to purchase the $1 Megaplier, which would have boosted the $1 million prize to an eye-popping $5 million.
All in all, a $1 million prize is nothing to turn up your nose at, but there’s no doubt that the winners would have preferred the $5 million payout for a low additional $1 investment.
