The Powerball jackpot climbs again.
The Saturday, Aug. 29, estimated Powerball jackpot is worth $47 million, or a cash value of $37.7 million is available for the potential winner.
The Powerball drawing that took place on Wednesday, Aug. 26, had winning numbers of 8 – 12 – 19 – 47 – 58 and a Powerball of 2. The Power Play Multiplier was 2X.
PA Lottery sells winning Powerball ticket of $100,000
Here in Pennsylvania, a lottery retailer sold a Powerball ticket worth $100,000 for the Wednesday, Aug. 26, drawing.
The ticket would normally be worth $50,000, but it had the $1 Power Play multiplier added to double the winnings. The Giant Eagle at 4110 Brighton Road in Pittsburgh, PA, scoops a $500 bonus just for selling the lucky ticket.
In total, around 16,500 PA Powerball tickets were winners in this drawing. Of that number, more than 5,000 tickets doubled their prize simply by purchasing the additional Power Play option.
Online lottery tickets receive automatic notification of winnings
As a reminder, if you are a Powerball winner, you have one year from the drawing date to claim your prize. However, if you choose to purchase Powerball tickets through the PA Lottery online, you will receive an automatic email notification if your ticket wins.
