Our favorite Philly athlete dogs on National Dog Day

Today is National Dog Day. We love dogs, and not just the underdogs that come through for a nice payout.

We might (sorry, boss) spend a little too much time looking at cute pup pics on Instagram and watching YouTube videos of dogs on their freedom ride after being adopted or greeting their humans who just got home after a long time away.

Philadelphia athletes have a soft spot for their furry, four-legged friends, too.

We can’t rate dogs because they are all v v good boys. Here are some dogs of Philadelphia athletes who we totally want to pet.

Rookie (Rhys Hoskins)

With 17K followers, Rookie leads this pack in terms of followers. Rhys Hoskins’ English cream golden retriever is truly “living his best life,” as his Insta bio says. His mom, Rhys’ wife, Jayme, perfectly captions the many adventures of this handsome tennis-ball-loving boy.

About English cream golden retrievers: An English cream golden retriever is a golden retriever that is paler in coat color.

Chief (Ben Simmons)

Ben Simmons‘ Cane Corso, Chief, pops up now and then in his Instagram. Athletic pups and their equally active people-parents like Chief and Ben get in a lot of tug-of-war and outdoor playtime.

About Cani Corsi: Corsi are intelligent, eager to please, versatile and intensely loyal to their humans, but are also assertive and willful.

Klaus De Process (Joel Embiid)

Sixers fans might be having their doubts about “The Process” after a first-round sweep by the Celtics. But there is no denying how adorable Klaus is.

The goldendoodle was introduced on Instagram in May 2019 by his parents, Joel Embiid and his girlfriend, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Anna De Paula.

About goldendoodles: They are a cross between a golden retriever and a poodle. Goldendoodles are intelligent, friendly and affectionate.

Wentz’s wolfpack

Carson Wentz loves to hunt. He launched Wentz Bros Outdoors with his brother, Zach, which features videos and hunting apparel. Wentz’s favorite hunting buddies? His three golden retrievers, Henley (aka Mama Henley), Jersey and Riggs.

About golden retrievers: Goldens are outgoing, trustworthy and eager-to-please family dogs.
