Yet again, the Mega Millions jackpot has increased.
Tonight’s drawing, Friday, Aug. 21, the Mega Millions estimated jackpot will be $49 million. The cash option is $38.9 million, if you prefer.
Previously, the Mega Millions winning numbers for Tuesday, Aug. 18, were 4 – 18 – 26 – 27 – 58 and a gold Megaball of 23. If you opted for the $1 Megaplier option, you could have multiplied your prize by 4x.
Not a single ticket sold matched all five white balls, so the closest anyone got to hitting the jackpot was matching four white balls plus the gold Megaball. In fact, a total of 17 tickets matched a combination of these numbers for a prize of $10,000. Out of the 17, three opted for the Multiplier option, quadrupling their prize to $40,000.
In Pennsylvania, two tickets were sold for $10,000 each.

How do I know if I have a winning ticket?
Did you know that if you purchased a winning ticket online through the PA Lottery, you will automatically receive an email?
The email arrives from [email protected] titled “Congratulations! You won playing PA iLottery.”
These notifications are sent out by 6 a.m. after the drawing.
If your win is $600 or below, the winning funds are automatically deposited into your iLottery player account, whereas if your win is over $600, you need to acknowledge it and submit extra verification; plus, taxes or withholding amounts may apply.
Finally, if you are so lucky as to win $1 million or over, you need to follow the additional instructions in the email to claim your prize. Remember, you have one year from the date of the drawing to claim your $1 million prize.
