The final presidential debate and a Thursday Night Football game between two teams from the “NFC Least” filled Twitter timelines with even more ire.
Pennsylvania online sportsbooks originally listed the Philadelphia Eagles as 6-point favorites against the New York Giants, but it closed at 4.5 or 4 at some books. The Giants lead 21-10 with 6:17 in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles, behind another gritty Carson Wentz performance and an ill-timed Evan Engram drop, rallied to win 22-21.
At 2-4-1, the Eagles are tied for first in the NFC East. They are suffering from a crazy list of injuries and a depleted depth chart but, the day after an Eagles win, it’s always sunny in Philadelphia, even if the night before was filled with doomsday tweets.
Giants vs. Eagles Week 6 betting review
NFL bettors heavily backed the Eagles against the Giants but not all were not rewarded.
At DraftKings:
- 83% of the money was on the Eagles (-4.5) to cover the spread
- 65% of the money was on the Eagles (-235) on the moneyline
- 88% of the money was on the over (45)
However, a few bet boosts at online sportsbooks turned out to be winners:
- Over 3.5 total turnovers in Giants vs. Eagles (yes) -250
- Wentz 350+ pass yards and Eagles win boosted from (+425) to +500
- Eagles to score a TD in each half boosted from (-200) to +100
- Daniel Jones to have a higher passer rating than Carson Wentz boosted from (-110) to +105
- Eagles moneyline +100 (max bet $25)
- Carson Wentz to rush for a touchdown (yes) +315
Football and politics
Thursday Night Football or the last presidential debate had many screaming … or, a much calmer bet, streaming.
Daniel Jones’ epic trip
Carson Wentz hushes the haters with little backup
Wentz played behind a makeshift offensive line, without his starting running back, top two tight ends, and anyone even resembling a starting wide receiver on any other roster. Wentz has been sacked this season a silly-if-it-wasn’t-sad 28 times. But he silenced most of his haters, even Colin Cowherd, for one night.
