BetStars US Giving Great Odds On The PA NFL Teams To Win The Super Bowl

The future is profitable.

That is, of course, if you’re ready to participate in BetStars NJ’s new promotion in which you can place a $5 bet on any NFL team to win Super Bowl LIII and automatically get 100-to-1 odds, regardless if the team is the Cleveland Browns or the Kansas City Chiefs. Here is the explanation directly from BetStars US:

“Available from September 13 until 23:59 ET on September 30, only your first futures winner bet will count towards this promotion. If you already have a Stars Account, you can get started straight away! Use your existing Stars ID to start playing at BetStars!”

There is still no sports betting in Pennsylvania. However, the promotion provides Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers fans a chance to get excellent value on their Super Bowl bets. Currently, the Eagles are going off at 14/1. The Steelers odds to win the Super Bowl sit at 22/1. In either situation, there is value in crossing state lines to book a bet on your phone.

That was not the only Pennsylvania deal going this weekend either. FanDuel Sportsbook offered to refund moneyline bets up to $100 on the two New York teams as well the Eagles. While Jets fans got a refund, both Giants and Eagles bettors cashed winning tickets yesterday.

Getting into the details of the 100-1 offer

The BetStars promo includes a long list of fine print, all of which is important for bettors to know.

First, only those who are physically present in New Jersey can make the bet via the BetStars or PokerStars app.

Second, only one of these $5 boosted-odds bets can be made via the promotion. All other bets made on Super Bowl teams will carry the website’s normal odds.

There are  few other details bettors should know, per the fine print:

  • “Should a player place a qualifying bet that is bigger than $5, only the first $5 of the bet will be at 100/1. The remainder of the bet will be registered at the regular price.”
  • “Only the first bet on this market will count towards the boosted odds.”

Highest and lowest odds for NFL teams

According to Vegas odds heading into this past weekend, only four of the leagues 32 teams had Super Bowl odds higher than 100-1:

  • New York Jets: 150/1
  • Buffalo Bills: 300/1
  • Oakland Raiders: 300/1
  • Arizona Cardinals: 1,000/1

San Francisco sat at 100/1, no doubt odds that were generated from what may very well be a season-ending injury for 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

The five teams with the best chances at winning the Super Bowl are, at the time of publishing:

  • Los Angeles Rams: 9/2
  • Jacksonville Jaguars: 10/1
  • Kansas City Chiefs: 10/1
  • New England Patriots: 10/1
  • Minnesota Vikings: 12/1

A $5 bet on the Jaguars, for example, would pay out $50 at regular odds but the BetStars promo would boost that win to $500.

Sports betting continues to grow in hot NJ Market

The BetStars promotion is further evidence that sportsbooks — both online and in person — are enjoying the spoils of a market that, up until earlier this year, never had the chance to place a legal bet.

Between eight land-based sportsbooks and eight online sports betting apps, NJ sportsbooks have brought in more than $3 million in revenue. No doubt, at least a few of those wagers came from nearby Pennsylvanians. There is still no timetable on exactly when PA sports betting will launch.
