MLB futures and player props for Phillies, Pirates

Everything has changed.

The sports schedules we’ve grown accustomed to are now tossed aside. The NBA and NHL regular seasons ended abruptly. Major League Baseball never got started.

No one is certain what will happen next, but it’s safe to say the conventions are gone. And the same goes for PA sports gambling.

So, DraftKings has changed some of its baseball futures to mesh with what is expected to be an abbreviated season.

DraftKings expects Dodgers to have the best win percentage

With baseball’s Opening Day in the rearview mirror and the rest of the season uncertain, it doesn’t make much sense for players to wager on season win totals. However, DraftKings is offering a logical alternative by listing over/under bets on season win percentage.

Currently, the Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to lead the league in win percentage. DraftKings has the over/under for the Dodgers at 62.5%.

The New York Yankees are next at 61.5%, followed by the Houston Astros (58.5%) and the Atlanta Braves (56%).

All bets require at least 60 games to be played in order to be valid.

Phillies, Pirates MLB odds project opposite seasons

Oddsmakers expect the Philadelphia Phillies to finish above .500 this season, while the Pittsburgh Pirates are predicted to finish below that mark.

The Phillies have a winning percentage over/under of 52.5%. The Pirates number is set at 42%.

In other bets, PlaySugarHouse has the Phillies at +340 to win the NL East division, 11-1 to win the National League and to 20-1 to win the World Series.

BetRivers has Pittsburgh at 80-1 to win the NL Central, 100-1 to win the National League and 100-1 to win the World Series.

Trump hopes to have all sports back by August

On Saturday, President Donald Trump held a conference call with major league sports commissioners. According to the ESPN article, Trump hopes to have sports back by August, but it’s not clear yet if he’ll receive his wish.

“I want fans back in the arenas,” Trump said in a briefing this weekend at the White House. “…As soon as we can, obviously. And the fans want to be back, too. They want to see basketball and baseball and football and hockey. They want to see their sports …”

Everyone is hoping for our favorite sports to return.

But for now, everything has changed. There are no sports on the schedule. And no baseball players on the field.

Our futures bets are all we’ve got.

And thankfully, DraftKings is keeping those a possibility.
