Updated game day and time for Washington Football Team at Eagles

Note: As of Friday afternoon, Washington Football Team at Philadelphia Eagles has been postponed to Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m.

Best odds for Eagles vs. Washington

With a large number of players on the WFT testing positive for COVID-19, a lot of unknowns remain for the upcoming Eagles game. A coronavirus protocol change made by the NFL on Thursday could allow many vaccinated players who are asymptomatic to “test out” of isolation in as little as one day.

Still, the line that started at Eagles -2.5 was up to -12.5 at some books including FanDuel Sportsbook as of mid-day Friday.

The Eagles moneyline dropped to -670 and the game’s Over/Under total went down to 39.5 points. All those lines are on the move again with the announcement that the game would be postponed to Tuesday.

The NFL’s COVID protocols have also limited the number of player props available this week (at least at this point), so bettors will have to focus on some of the team props available until closer to game time.

Will Antonio Gibson and Jalen Hurts combine for two TDs?

Over at DraftKings Sportsbook, one of the Weekly Specials features the rushing touchdowns of WFT running back Antonio Gibson and Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

  • Gibson + Hurts OVER 1.5 Combined Rushing TDs: +130

Can the Eagles get to 27 points?

The Eagles offense exploded for 33 points in their last game against the Jets. But can Philadelphia carry that momentum through the bye week against what figures to be a better defense and a better opponent too?

Washington’s defense ranks 23rd in scoring, giving up an average of 24.9 points per game. At DraftKings:

  • Eagles Over 26.5: -115
  • Eagles Under 26.5: -115

Fun Facts can make for Fun Bets

One of the most interesting features on the DraftKings betting app is the Fun Facts section on the Stats page for each game. There you can find betting trends that are tied to specific odds for Sunday’s game. Here are the offerings for this week:

  • Washington has lost each of its last eight December games against NFC East opponents: Eagles moneyline (-630)
  • Seven of Washington’s last eight games have gone Under the total points line: Under 40 (-110)
  • Philadelphia has covered the spread in four of their last five games as favorites: Eagles -12, (-110)

Can the Eagles score first? What’s the winning spread and points parlay?

Note: At press time, the following Fox Bet lines are currently off the board. Check back closer to game time for updated odds.

FOX Bet has boosted the odds for Philadelphia to score first on Sunday. The odds are now +200 (from +175) on the first score of the game to be an Eagles TD.

In the last game before the bye week, Philadephia fell behind 6-0 before winning the game 33-18.

One of the common same-game parlay wagers is to pair the game’s spread and the total. Here’s the pricing for those options at FOX Bet (Note: the Eagles are favored by 8.5 points there and the total is 45.5).

  • WFT +8.5 and Over 45.5: +375
  • WFT +8.5 and Under 45.5: +200
  • Eagles -8.5 and Over 45.5: +315
  • Eagles -8.5 and Under 45.5: +195

NFC East showdown has serious playoff implications

Heading into Sunday’s game, Washington is hanging onto the final spot in the NFC playoff race.

Philadelphia has the same record, but sits farther back because of tiebreakers.

And all that is going to change on Sunday.

One team will surge ahead. The other will fall far away from the playoff hunt.

The stakes are high. And the games are huge.

It’s crunch time.
