This could be epic. Major League Baseball’s Home Run Derby will be held at Colorado’s Coors Field Monday night, with the altitude and mountain air serving as a veritable launching pad. Coors Field typically ranks first in the league in a stat called Ballpark Factors, which measures a stadium’s ability to produce runs.
The conditions are ripe for a lot of dingers, bombs, moonshots – or whatever else you might call them.
Online sportsbooks in Pennsylvania have betting markets for the 2021 Home Run Derby and the All-Star Game.
2021 Home Run Derby betting
Shohei Ohtani (+380) is the Home Run Derby favorite at DraftKings PA Sportsbook. Ohtani has been crushing the ball all season, with a league-leading total of 33 home runs.
He also has a 4-1 record and a 3.49 ERA as a pitcher, making him a heavy favorite (-335) for the league’s MVP award at DraftKings. On Monday morning, BetMGM PR data analyst John Ewing tweeted:

At BetMGM, 38% of tickets and 44% of handle on Ohtani who is the sportsbook’s biggest liability in the Home Run Derby market.

This year’s Home Run Derby will be especially exciting because last year’s event was cancelled as a result of the COVID pandemic. Pete Alonso won the 2019 Home Run Derby at Progressive Field in Cleveland.

At FanDuel, you can bet on who the Home Run Derby Finalists will be.
In addition, a bet on the league of the home run derby champion has the American League at -195 and the National League priced at +150.
2021 MLB All-Star Game betting
Spread, moneyline, total and more wagers are available for the 2021 MLB All-Star Game at PA sports betting apps. Live betting odds should will also be available on Tuesday night when the games starts at 8 p.m. Currently, the National League is a slight favorite on the moneyline (-116) with the run total set at 10.5
The Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh Pirates each have two players in Tuesday’s All-Star Game.
Pittsburgh Pirate Adam Frazier will start at second base for the National League and outfielder Bryan Reynolds is a reserve. Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler and catcher J.T. Realmuto were also selected to the National League team.
The American League has won the last seven games, with the National League’s last victory being a 8-0 shutout in 2012.
Ohtani should play a significant role in the game, with a chance to continue his historic season both on the mound and at the plate.
It should be interesting either way.
