PA trust claims $516 million jackpot
According to the PA Lottery, the wait is over. The May 21, 2021, $516 million jackpot won in PA was just claimed last week. However, the winners claimed the prize anonymously via a trust called “Peace of Mind.”
Also, the winners opted to claim the life-changing amount of money as a one-time, cash, lump-sum payment. The five-member group received $358.6 million, and after deducting the 24% federal and 3.07% state tax withholding, the total amount was just over $254 million.
Attorneys Kurt Panouses and Christopher Mahoney claimed the prize on behalf of the winners. In a joint statement, the attorneys disclosed a few details about the winners.
“This is life-changing generational money. The winners live in small communities in eastern Pennsylvania and desire to keep their lives as normal as possible. Maintaining anonymity is key to ensuring that normalcy. The winning ticket was a Quick Pick.”
