The winning Mega Millions numbers for the last drawing on May 12 were 7 – 16 – 27 – 44 – 52 with a megaball of 05. The multiplier was 5x.
No one hit the jackpot and just two players, one in California and one in New York, matched all five white balls to win $1 million. But neither had the $1 megaplier, which would have meant $5 million.

With the new Mega Millions and Powerball rules, the jackpot will reset to $20 million after it is hit. That is down from the regular $40 million reset amount. Until then, the jackpot continues to ratchet up toward the $300 million mark.

The new, temporary lottery rules mean that when the Mega Millions big one hits, the jackpot will reset to $20 million, rather than the usual $40 million.
