The Mega Millions jackpot is up to $127 million for the Tuesday, April 7 drawing. The cash option for matching all six numbers is a whopping $103 million.

Minimum jackpot and roll amount reduced
Ticket sales have been declining because of retail closures for coronavirus containment. As a result, the Mega Millions jackpot will start over at $20 million rather than $40 million starting after the next grand prize is paid out.
The minimum roll amount is also changing. Previously, each time the jackpot did not hit, the following jackpot would increase by a minimum of $5 million. That is no longer the case, beginning in tonight’s drawing.
“The value of the Mega Millions jackpot is based on projected sales, and typical sales patterns have been altered because the current health crisis has required people to stay home,” said Gordon Medenica, Lead Director of the Mega Millions Consortium and Director of Maryland Lottery and Gaming.
April 3 drawing results
Winning numbers on Friday, April 3 were 24 – 38 – 44 – 57 – 59 Megaball 17 with a 4x megaplier. No one hit the jackpot, nor matched five white balls to win seven-figures.
Six tickets did, however, match four white balls plus the Megaball. Five of them won $10,000. The other lucky one had added the $1 megaplier to quadruple the winnings to $40,000.
The megaplier multiplies non-jackpot winnings by a factor determined during the drawing. Of 15 megaplier balls, five contain 2x, six are marked 3x, three are designated 4x, and one ball contains the highest multiplier of 5x.
