Around this time last year, on Dec. 17, a $375 million jackpot was won by someone out of Ohio.

2020 Mega Millions jackpot winners
For the last drawing, which was on Dec. 18, there were no big jackpot winners. Nationwide, the closest anyone got to winning was 19 second-place prizes where four white balls plus the gold Mega Ball matched on a ticket.
Out of the 19 winners, five had opted for the $1 megaplier, boosting the prize to $30,000 from $10,000.
As the year nears an end, the Mega Millions jackpot has hit five times in 2020.
