When your casino is in the Poconos, embracing the beautiful outdoor setting is beneficial. It explains the popularity of Mohegan Sun Pocono’s Party on the Patio free concerts and their plans, which include an outdoor terrace bar.

If Mohegan Sun Pocono is your go-to local casino or you are headed to the Poconos this summer, you’re going to find a number of new amenities.

What’s new at Mohegan Sun Pocono for 2022

Embers Terrace:  Open now. Located near Rustic Kitchen Bistro & Bar, it has Adirondack style seating, fire pits, live weekend acoustic entertainment, dining and drinks. In June, a 25-person bar and a partially covered dining area with a late fare menu will be available.

In an interview with Playin Pennsylvania to discuss the new amenities at Mohegan Sun Pocono, David Parfrey, VP of Marketing, commented:

“Anyone who has ever grown up in the Northeast knows that when you get through the rough, grueling winters…you want to be outside. We’ve been looking at ways to implement an outdoor space for drinking and eating that will allow our guests to have that experience to relax.”

The Hive Taphouse. Opening this summer. Located in the former space of Bar Louie and will have food, 20 beers on tap, and a stage for live music.

Topggold Swing Suites. Opening this summer. Topgolf at Mohegan Sun Pocono will also be home to energetic games like Zombie Dodgeball, the Quarterback Challenge, Baseball Pitching, Hockey games, and more.

The Mohegan Sun Pocono Hotel opened in 2014. By the end of the year, all 238 guest rooms will be completely renovated with fresher contemporary designs, new bathrooms and upgraded amenities.

“It was time to give a whole new look for the guest experience,” said Parfrey. “All the Mohegan properties will also have a similar look. You’ll know you are at a Mohegan property.”

Gaming at Mohegan Sun Pocono

Mohegan Sun Pocono has about 1,900 slots and a variety of traditional tables. There is also new table likes like Down Under Blackjack which lets you see the strength of the dealer’s hand before you decide how to play your own hand and Fusion Hybrid which connects you with up to four live table games at the same player terminal.

Like many casinos in PA, Lock it Link and Dragon Link are some of the most popular slots at Mohegan Sun Pocono.

“We pride ourselves on our slot floor and invest a heavy amount of capital to keep the slot floor fresh and up-to-date. We are constantly monitoring the most poplar games,” said Parfrey.

Party on the Patio

Party on the Patio at Mohegan Sun Pocono started in 2010 and the free concert series has grown in popularity each year. Last year, it reached record attendance. Starting on June for 14 weeks, the casino in the Wilkes-Barre plays host to a free concert series.

“When we began this journey in 2010, we weren’t sure what to expect,” said Parfrey. “People are passionate about it. We have some staples in the lineup and we try to mix it up as well.”
