BetMGM and Borgata Poker PA Launch

For Pennsylvania online poker players, the days of being confined to just one operator are over. As of this morning, BetMGM Poker and Borgata Poker are fully live and welcoming PA players to their games. Both new operators have welcome bonuses to celebrate their PA launches as well.

Both BetMGM and Borgata poker games are part of the partypoker US network, so the experience will be the same regardless of which you choose to play on. Conveniently, the bonuses for new and returning customers alike are also identical.

Adam Greenblatt, Chief Executive Officer, BetMGM said in a press release Thursday:

“We’re eager to expand our platform to a larger online audience, and give players in the Keystone State safe, accessible and entertaining poker options.”

BetMGM, Borgata triple Pennsylvania online poker options

Until today, PokerStars PA was the only room dealing virtual hands in PA. Now, both BetMGM and Borgata are live in the Keystone State. BetMGM comes to PA thanks to its partnership with Hollywood Casino Grantville while Borgata gets into the commonwealth under Rivers Casino‘s Philadelphia license.

BetMGM and Borgata Poker apps are both available on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store on Android devices. Players with existing casino or sportsbook accounts can sign into either app with those same credentials and find a new “Poker” tab.

The menu of available variants on both apps at this time includes:

  • No-Limit Hold’em
  • Fixed-Limit Hold’em
  • Pot-Limit Omaha (Hi and Hi-Lo)

Stakes range from $0.01/$0.02 to $25/$50 for NLHE and PLO, while the fixed-limit hold’em games go from $0.02/$0.04 to $30/$60. Players will also find a wide range of daily and weekly tournament buy-ins and even an option for play money tournaments to help get their feet wet.

The two apps share a player pool, so players can access the full gambit of games from either app. Both apps also link to MGM’s M Life Rewards program.

T0 celebrate these launches, BetMGM and Borgata are offering special bonuses and tournaments. There’s also a reason to look forward to the future when it comes to poker with these brands.

Bonuses and freerolls for BetMGM and Borgata PA poker players

Starting off with the promotion for new customers, BetMGM and Borgata both offer a $25 no-deposit bonus and a 100% deposit match bonus, up to $600. If you’ve taken advantage of a welcome bonus for BetMGM or Borgata on the casino or sportsbook side, however, you’re ineligible for those deals.

New players also get immediate eligibility for the Opening Week Freeroll event, which runs from May 9-16. All the bonuses aren’t just for new players, though. All exiting PA customers get an invitation to the $40,000 Crossover Invitational Freeroll event on May 16. Both brands also offer all customers the Keystone Grind promo, which is an opportunity to win up to $6,500 in site credit each month by playing in real-money cash games and tournaments.

These events add to the regular schedule in PA, which consists of daily and weekly tournaments with guaranteed prize pools. Highlights include:

  • Daily $10K with a $109 buy-in
  • Sunday $40K with a $215 buy-in
  • Mega $535 Tuesday with a $12,000 guarantee
  • Thursday $320 buy-in PKO Bounty with a $10,000 guarantee

The new sites also announced an opening series for PA players will run May 23-30. The partypoker US network Online Series will conclude with a $109 buy-in Main Event that guarantees a $100,000 prize pool.

Ray Stefanelli, Director of Poker, BetMGM, said of the new sites:

“Pennsylvania customers will find that BetMGM Poker and Borgata Poker provide engaging experiences for both new and seasoned players. The partypoker US Network supports the online poker community, providing access to training initiatives designed to help all participants strengthen their play.”

Future getting brighter for online poker in PA

While an expansion of choices should incentivize everyone in the market to create better offerings for players, there might be more expansion on the horizon yet. BetMGM Poker also operates in Michigan and New Jersey, while the popular East Coast Borgata brand is live in both NJ and PA. Future compacting could allow shared player pools between these jurisdictions.

That, in turn, would open up an entirely new angle for tournaments with potentially massive guarantees. Until such a time, though, the games and guarantees on both BetMGM and Borgata in PA will more than suffice.
