The Pennsylvania Lottery continues its drive further into the new era.
Over the past few months, the Keystone State rolled out new online lottery and gambling games, transcending the PA Lottery from what it was even at this time last year.
An announcement Tuesday took it one step even further.
Drawings available to watch online
The PA Lottery announced that it will be making its nightly lotto drawing shows available to view online at its website. Each night’s drawing begins at 6:59 p.m. The program will include all PICK games as well as Wild Ball, Cash 5, and Match 6 Lotto. There will be drawings seven nights a week.
“We want to offer players the convenience of watching drawings from wherever they are,” Drew Svitko, the PA Lottery executive director, said in the release. “Today’s busy players really enjoy watching the drawings as they happen, but aren’t always near a television.”
On top of live-streaming its lotto drawings online, the PA Lottery will have results carried by a number of Pennsylvania television stations:
- WTXF, Philadelphia
- WPXI, Pittsburgh
- WGAL, Harrisburg/Lancaster
- WNEP, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
- WTAJ, Johnstown/Altoona
- WJET, Erie
Of course, as always, drawing results can also be found on the PA Lottery website, via its mobile app, or by calling its toll-free results hotline.
Continuing to embrace innovation and online presence
Since 1977, the PA Lottery has been televising its lotto drawings. But never before has the organization expanded its presence like it has over the past few months.
It began last fall when Pennsylvania introduced an online gambling expansion bill to diversify the games it offered, including:
- Online poker
- Online casino games
- Daily fantasy sports
- Sports betting
Since then, the PA Lottery has worked tirelessly to modernize its products.
“As we reflect on 46 great years, we’re hard at work to build the Pennsylvania Lottery of the future,” Svitko said in March. “In coming months, we’ll launch an iLottery online gaming platform and new types of draw games that will help us to modernize our business and generate new funds to benefit older Pennsylvanians.”
At the time Svitko made that comment, PA Lottery, celebrating its 46th anniversary, announced its plans to go live with Keno, iLottery and virtual sports monitor games. Keno has since thrived, while iLottery launched last month on the PA Lottery website and in its mobile app.
Now by taking its lottery drawings online, the PA Lottery has made another big stride in attracting a younger audience as it continues its quest to generate another $30 million through the PA Lottery.
