PA online lottery expands eInstant games

The Pennsylvania Lottery is expanding its iLottery content delivered to PA players via Scientific Games’ OpenGaming technology.

The gaming tech company is now the exclusive distributor of SidePlay Entertainment’s eInstant games portfolio across North America. The PA Lottery is the first market in the US to launch the content.

SidePlay’s newest release, Piggy Bank Payout, is the first game to go live in PA. The game is the first of many eInstant games soon to be available through OpenGaming in the coming months.

PA iLottery to benefit from Scientific Games and SidePlay deal

The deal should strengthen SG’s eInstant games offered through the Open Gaming System. OGS serves as a digital content aggregator, with an array of SG and third-party games available through a single interface.

Amy Bergette, a vice president at Scientific Games said in a prepared release:

“We’re delighted to bring exciting new eInstant game entertainment to Pennsylvania Lottery players first through our newly-formed partnership with SidePlay Entertainment. These new games will be a great addition to our offering of iLottery content that can be enjoyed conveniently from players’ desktop or laptop computers, tablets and mobile devices.”

Steve Hickson, Director of SidePlay Entertainment, said:

“We’re delighted to be helping the lottery broaden the variety of iLottery content available in the state and in turn, providing a significant contribution to programs for older Pennsylvanians. We’re looking forward to a continued and successful partnership with both the Pennsylvania Lottery and Scientific Games.”

Big bucks brought in by iLottery

The Lottery’s online and mobile game program was developed by Scientific Games with the aim of providing maximum returns to benefit older Pennsylvanian citizens.

Considered the most successful iLottery program in North America, it topped $1 billion in sales in less than two years. The program is on track to reach $1 billion in annual sales.

SG has provided games, technology, and services to the Pennsylvania Lottery since the early 1970s when the lottery began. Their stock rose nearly 25% in May.

The PA lottery already offers over 70 eInstant games through the Scientific Games platform. Now, it strengthens its already-robust online and mobile offerings.

“In partnership with Scientific Games, our team has worked closely with the team at the Pennsylvania Lottery to refine game content for their players,” said Hickson.
