For Pennsylvania poker players, PokerStars has always provided some of the best quality tournament series in the business. Recently, PokerStars PA ran its popular series known as the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) and did not disappoint.

A couple recurring names grabbed headlines and victories during the series, including a well-known Pennsylvania online streamer.

Overall, the series has handed out more than $1 million in prizes so far, with several big events still remaining.

Pennsylvania poker players earn notable SCOOP wins

The SCOOP in Pennsylvania has been nothing short of thrilling so far, with big winners and surprising upsets around every corner. The Pennsylvania series turned players into winners this past March.

A few recognizable players obtained victory, including a well-known online Twitch streamer. Keith “whoopsboom” Becker won his first SCOOP event and was thrilled.

“Been chasing this for a long time. Honestly just such a great feeling,” Becker said, but he’s not done yet. “This wasn’t a trophy event, so now it’s time to hunt some hardware.”

Becker was live streaming and caught his victory on Twitch.

Another Twitch streamerZach “KennytheRipper” Grunebergscored a win in event 23M. He took down over $14,000 for the accomplishment.

One player known as “TheBigSlick74” from PA scored two first places in one week, when he won event 3L and 6H. They then went on to win event 30H, too. These three wins combined for over $10,600.

Another grinder “LetMeWin3437“, emerged victorious in the event 29H for over $8,000. This player has a proven track record, having previously won the 2020 PACOOP Main Event for $46,319. With more events yet to come, it’s anyone’s guess who will emerge as the ultimate PASCOOP champion.

PokerStars PASCOOP runs through April 3

The Spring Championship of Online Poker kicked off on March 17 and runs through April 3. The series dropped an impressive 252 events and $5 million in guaranteed prizes altogether.

The SCOOP in the US just made history with its largest-ever prize pool online for a series. With low, medium and high buy-in levels available, players had even more chances to win big. The tournament ran in the shared player pool of Michigan and New Jersey, as well as separately in Pennsylvania, with over $3 million guaranteed in the former and more than $2 million in the latter.

“We’ve made a concerted effort to ensure that this series is accessible to all players, by curating an inclusive schedule with a wide range of buy-ins. Our aim is to provide everyone with the opportunity to compete for a coveted SCOOP trophy,” said PokerStars managing director Severin Rasset.

With buy-ins ranging from $10 to $2,500, this year’s SCOOP was able to cater to a large range of players.

The highlight of the series is the two-day, $300 buy-in high Main Event with a $300,000 guarantee in MI-NJ and a $200,000 guarantee in PA, beginning on April 2. All main events offer three different buy-in levels to choose from.

  • $300 Main Event (two day) – $300,000 guarantee in MI-NJ, $200,000 in PA
  • $50 Mini Main Event – $50,000 guaranteed in MI-NJ, $35,000 in PA
  • $2,500 High Roller Main Event – $125,000 guaranteed in MI-NJ, $100,000 in PA
