In just six weeks time since the last Powerball jackpot was hit on Valentine’s Day, the Grand Prize has skyrocketed to $195 million for the March 28 drawing. Jackpot winners can opt to take their winnings in one lump sum payment instead of annual payments. A potential winner tonight could opt for the cash value of $123.4 million before withholding. Not too shabby!
On Saturday night, the Powerball drawing produced a new millionaire in CO. A ticket sold there matched the first five white balls, but came short of matching that red Powerball. Fourteen players matched four of the five white balls plus the Powerball, to win the third-tier prize. Most of those winners will get the standard prize of $50,000. However, two of those players added the $1 Power Play option to their ticket when purchasing, thus tripling their winnings to $150,000.
