The New Year’s Day Powerball drawing didn’t produce a jackpot winner, so the Grand Prize continues to rise to historic heights. At $540 million for Jan. 3, 2022, it is close to cracking the top 10 highest Powerball jackpots of all time. The cash value of tonight’s jackpot is $384.3 million.
The previous drawing did produce several big winners, anyway. Players from AZ, CA and FL matched the first five balls to win $1 million each. Another player in MD bought their ticket with the optional Power Play kicker and doubled their winning ticket value to $2 million.

It’s Monday, and that means the PA Lottery has announced the latest New Year’s Millionaire Raffle weekly drawing winners. The weekly drawings are taken from tickets sold in the previous week and award two prizes of $50,000. There will be one more drawing of this type during the main event on Jan. 8. That’s when four new millionaires will be minted and $800,000 in other cash prizes will be awarded to raffle ticket holders.
As for this week’s winners, ticket number 00369540 was sold at a Wawa store in Philadelphia and ticket number 00404431 was sold at Turkey Hill in Montgomery County. Remember to keep your tickets until the main event. All Millionaire Raffle tickets are entered into the Jan. 8 drawings. Check your tickets, and for good measure check every ticket using the ticket checker at a Lottery retailer or using PA Lottery’s official app.
