$1 million MO ticket expires soon

If you bought a Powerball ticket in Missouri, check your tickets! This particular $1 million winning ticket was bought for the Jan. 16 drawing earlier this year at Circle K, 602 N. Main St. in O’Fallon. As a reminder, the winning numbers for that drawing were 14 – 20 – 39 – 65 – 67 with a red Powerball of 2.

In Missouri, a winner has six months to claim the prize. This means that the ticket expires on July 15 if unclaimed. May Scheve Reardon, Executive Director of the Missouri Lottery, stated, “You still have time to claim this $1 million prize. If you have the winning ticket, please make arrangements to claim your prize before next month’s deadline.”

PA Lottery benefits older Pennsylvanians

In Missouri, expired tickets become part of the Lottery Proceeds Fund to benefit public education. However, in PA, lottery proceeds go to generate funding for various programs on behalf of older Pennsylvanians.

In fact, since the lottery’s inception in 1972, over $30 billion has been contributed to funding programs for seniors, such as:

  • Property tax and rent rebates
  • Free and reduced-fare transportation services
  • Low-cost prescription programs
  • Care services
  • Local services

You don’t have to buy tickets through a physical lottery retailer, either. Try out the PA online lottery, where more than $1.7 billion has been won in total from May 2018 through May 2021.

Other states that sell online lottery tickets

There are also other states that sell online lottery tickets:

  • New York
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Kentucky
  • Michigan
  • New Hampshire
  • North Carolina
  • North Dakota
  • Virginia

For more information on these states above, please visit each state’s lottery site online.
