Happy Monday, lottery players. Monday means another big jackpot up for grabs in tonight’s Powerball drawing. The Top Prize has increased again, to $65 million for Feb. 28. The lump sum cash value, if a winner chooses to take it all at once, is $43.3 million before withholding.
Saturday night’s drawing produced one big winner of a $2 million prize. A ticket sold in MD matched the first five balls, but not the red powerball. That would usually win a prize of $1 million, but the player spent the extra $1 to add the Power Play option to their ticket. Power Play multiplies all prizes other than the jackpot.

The Power Play option cannot be applied to Double Play drawings. A total of 13 lotteries offer Double Play. They are Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and Washington.
