Wednesday’s $190 million Powerball jackpot hit which was good news for the winner but also triggered the reset of the next jackpot.
Due to the coronavirus, the Powerball jackpot reset has decreased from $40 million to $20 million.
The estimated jackpot for April 11th’s drawing is $20 million. The cash option is $16.4 million. That’s still a healthy payout.

Last drawing’s winning numbers, winning tickets
The winning numbers for the April 8 drawing on Wednesday were 2 – 37 – 39 – 48 – 54. The power play multiplier was 3x.
Buy-Rite liquors in Piscataway, New Jersey sold the $190 million Powerball winning ticket.
One player matched all five balls for a $1 million win. Another 10 matched four white balls and the powerball to win $50,000. Four of them had the power play to tripled their winnings to $150,000.
One Pennsylvania player matched four of five, the powerball and purchased the power play to win $150,000.

Changes to Powerball jackpots, roll amounts
Changes to the Powerball include:
- Jackpot reset has decreased from $40 million to $20 million
- There will be no minimum increase between drawings. It will depend on game sales and interest rates for the time being.
The Powerball Product Group recently announced the changes:
“These changes are necessary to ensure that ticket sales can support the Powerball jackpot and other lower-tier cash prizes,” said Gregg Mineo, Powerball Product Group Chairman and Maine Lottery Director. “Our number one priority is making sure that the Powerball game can continue to assist lotteries in raising proceeds for their beneficiaries.”
