The Powerball jackpot rises again and now sits at $135 million for the June 3 drawing. That comes out to $107 million for hitting all six numbers and taking the cash option.
Draw games continue in popularity with many lotto retailers still closed in PA and beyond for pandemic precautions. In fact, the Mega Millions jackpot is the largest it has been since June 2019. At an estimated $378 million for the next drawing on Friday, it’s the 14th largest jackpot in the history of the game.
Meanwhile, online lottery sales have also seen a rise as more players opt to purchase tickets from the safety and comfort of home. Pennsylvania is one of the states that allows online lottery sales. Recent Powerball winners, new lottery rules
On the May 30th drawing, the winning numbers were 13 – 32 – 41 – 58 – 60 with a powerball of 14. The multiplier was 2x.
There were no jackpot winners and also no million-dollar winners, but 16 tickets matched four white balls and the powerball, including one sold in PA. For 15 of them, it was worth $50,000. One person had the $1 power play in effect, making the winnings $100,000.
Another PA player matched all five white balls on Saturday, May 23 and had the power play, winning themselves a cool $2 million.
New draw lottery rules dictate that jackpots start over at $20 million instead of $40 million, at least for the time being. There is also no minimum roll amount between jackpots, but that hasn’t made a huge difference of late.
